Getting started with DRM

Here is an overview of the easy steps to start using MediaKey in order to protect and secure your media and business. Within a day you will be able to protect your media with DRM using MediaKey.

• 1:  Geting a MediaKey account
  Please contact us to become a customer and get an account the MediaKey protection system. Within 24 hours you will receive your account details and they will be ready to use immediately. With your account you can now use the MediaKey Bulk Encoder to protect your content.



• 2:  Encrypting your first movie
  With the MediaKey Bulk Encoder you can now start the encryption of your first movie. It will go very fast since it only encrypts the movie - no need to re-encoding. Alternatively you can use Windows Media Encoder if you need a more sophisticated solution. The Bulk Encoder automatically submits information about the encrypted file to MediaKey.
  
  
• 3:  Setting up license terms
  You only need to determine the proper license terms for your newly encoded video on MediaKey Admin. Once you are logged in you can setup policies about how licenses should be issued for your video. License terms can be changed instantly - even with files that consumers have already download.
  
  
• 4:  Playing your encrypted movie
  Open the protected media file in Windows Media Player 9.0 or later. Depending on your configuration Windows Media Player might need to download a small individualization upgrade, but this is done transparently within a few seconds and will not repeat. This is to ensure individualization and maximum protection of your media.
  
  
• 5:  Encrypt the rest of your content
  You can now encrypt all the movies you want with the Bulk Encoder. Just follow step 2 and 3 for all your movies and you will experience the benefits of DRM media protection by MediaKey.
