With the MediaKey protection system you can distribute your media freely
on the Internet or Magazine CDs and still retaining full control -
also over the media files that has already been downloaded. In addition
MediaKey is able to protect streaming video and audio, as long as it is
delivered with a Microsoft Windows Streaming Server.
Key Advantages:
MediaKey protection uses DRM which allows you to package
digital files securely for distribution by encrypting the content. To play the
encrypted file, the consumer will need to obtain a license that contains this key.
The license, which is distributed seperately from the content, enables you
to set the rules that determine how the media file can be used.
Once the license is received, the consumer is allowed to view the file
based on the rules set by you.
Through the protection and licensing system you are capable of defining various
rules for the usage and distribution of the media.
License customization (Usage Rules)
There are a variety of configuration choices when working with DRM licenses.
In MediaKey you create
license configurations and apply them to your selected video or
audio files in MediaKey. This way you can dynamicly change the license
configuration that applies to a media file. Changes are updated immediately
and is additionally reflected in downloaded media files. The
configuration choices are as follows.
Geographic and Timeframe Control
Allow selected Countries and/or Organisations to play media
With geographic control it is possible to limit the usage of your media file to
a list of specific countries and/or organisations. If you have limits upon
what countries specific media is allowed to be viewed in, geographic
control is the solution that will help you achieve increased control
without going on compromise with the ease of use.
Restrict the usage of your media to a specific timeframe
Timeframe control enables you to set a start-date/time and end-date/time
for your media. Press kits on CDs can be made with DRM protection to
present a powerful presentation while still retaining control of the
actual time that viewing will be available. This measn that product
launches can be made ready and sent without the market awareness before
due time. No stress for future PR employees.
